Daily living equipment
There’s lots of specialist equipment and gadgets available which can help you remain safe and independent with everyday tasks such as washing, dressing, cooking, moving around your home or being out and about.
It can sometimes be difficult to know which equipment and gadgets* will meet your needs, but there’s a wide range of advice and support available, both locally and nationally, to help you make the right decision for you.

Herefordshire Council support
Herefordshire Council’s Occupational Therapy Team provide independent advice and guidance on equipment provision, along with assessments of your individual needs. The council can also provide some equipment free of charge, if you meet the national eligibility criteria.
To request advice from the Occupational Therapy Team, before using or buying equipment, contact Herefordshire Council on 01432 260101 or ASCAdviceandReferralTeam@herefordshire.gov.uk.
Safe+Well, which is supported by Herefordshire Council and Herefordshire and Worcestershire CCG, is a fantastic service that can help you better understand which daily living aids might be best for you and where they can be purchased. They also offer a free Safe+Well telephone advice line, run by qualified Occupational Therapists.
